Pat Limbach, Ph.D.

Dr. Patrick A. Limbach is a former Ohio Eminent Scholar, Professor of Chemistry, and Vice President for Research at the University of Cincinnati (2016–2025), where he led a period of unprecedented growth in sponsored awards and research expenditures. An internationally recognized analytical chemist, he has served as principal investigator on more than $12 million in state and federal research funding and has partnered extensively with industry throughout his 30+ year career to advance scientific discovery, technology commercialization, and innovation.

Dr. Limbach served on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) consensus study committee that authored the landmark report, Charting a Future for Sequencing RNA and Its Modifications, helping shape the national research roadmap for next-generation RNA sequencing technologies.

In 2026, he joined Brown University's Giuliani RNA Center as Professor and Director of Industry Relations & Engagement, where he is leading efforts to expand strategic partnerships and accelerate the translation of RNA research into real-world applications.

Dr. Limbach is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and a lifetime member of Phi Kappa Phi.
